Jesse L. MartinJesse L. Martin, who plays Detective Ed Green on Law & Order, was the victim of a robbery during a visit to his hometown of Buffalo, NY. In town to shoot a film, Martin was eating breakfast and signing autographs on Monday morning, only to have his car broken into. The thief got away with Martin’s luggage, iPod and autographed photos. Director Peter McGennis said of the incident, “He’s lived in New York City for 20 years and has never been robbed or a victim of theft. He comes back here and in two days he gets fleeced.” The film Martin was shooting is an indie movie called Buffalo Bushido. Without his luggage, Martin flew to New York City with just the clothes he was wearing and his wallet. Quite a homecoming—Martin graduated from the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts.

Chevy Chase to Guest on Law and Order

Chevy ChaseChevy Chase—where have you been? He’s back, and this time giving the drama Law & Order a spin as a guest star. He stars as a hollywood actor who is arrested for DUI. The episode has a decidedly familiar ring on the recent incident with Mel Gibson, as the character’s “religious prejudice comes out after his arrest.” The spin, however, is that this character will be “wearing blood-soaked clothes.”

Gibson’s incident took place in July and he pleaded no contest in August, receiving a sentence of three years’ probation, payment of a fine and required attendance at Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.

Chase, of course, is well known for being a cast member of Saturday Night Live, as well as his appearances in the Vacation, Caddyshack and Fletch films. Apparently, Chase hasn’t been too far from the spotlight recently, including the film Zoom this summer, and the indie films Ellie Parker and Funny Money.
